Description:

CMB2 is a developer's toolkit for building metaboxes, custom fields, and forms for WordPress. It is a complete rewrite of Custom Metaboxes and Fields for WordPress. With it you can manage meta for posts, terms, users, and comments, or create custom option pages. Examples for getting started are included in the example-functions.php file, along with basic usage instructions.

You can create metaboxes for post edit screens and build forms for option pages. Forms can also handle user meta and display it on user profile add and edit pages, or handle term meta and display it wherever your taxonomies are used. A flexible API lets you use CMB forms almost anywhere, including the front-end. Several field types are included, and a custom API hook allows you to create your own field types. Repeatable fields are supported for most field types, along with repeatable field groups.

Numerous hooks and filters let you modify many aspects of the library without editing it directly. CMB2 is safe to bundle with any project and will only load the newest version in the system. Documentation is available on the CMB2 wiki on GitHub, and the functions and methods are fully inline-documented. Development takes place on GitHub, where contributions are welcome, and translation files can be provided through WordPress Plugin Translations.
