Description:

MB Revision is an extension for Meta Box that tracks changes of custom fields in WordPress post revisions. By default, WordPress records revisions only for the post title and post content. This extension enables tracking for custom fields as well, so you can save, compare and restore field data from each revision. It supports all field types, including groups, and provides an easy way to see the changes in each revision.

When a post is updated, the plugin automatically copies the custom field values from the parent post to the new revision. On the revision comparison screen, changes to custom fields appear below the post title and post content. If a value is an array, for example a cloneable or group field, it is shown as JSON. Restoring a revision copies the custom field values back to the parent post. To enable revision support, you set the revision option to true in the meta box configuration and the extension handles the rest.

The extension suits sites that store a lot of data in custom fields, such as landing pages or project pages, and sites where many users can edit the content. Tracking revisions shows what was added, what remained unchanged and what was removed, so you can spot careless edits and prevent unexpected changes to website content.
