Description:
UsersWP Private Messaging is an addon that lets your users send realtime private messages to each other. It is intended for sites running UsersWP that want to give members a direct way to communicate one on one. Messaging is available to logged in users and works alongside the user directory and profile pages.
A logged in user starts a message by clicking the Message button on the user directory, on a user's profile page, or in the messaging sidebar. Clicking the button opens a popup message box where the user enters the message to send. The Messages tab in the profile shows a list of recent conversations, so members can return to earlier exchanges.
Site owners control who is allowed to send messages. The Messaging setting in Account offers the options Everybody, Nobody, Friends, and Followers, so access can be matched to how the community is set up. Further settings include a maximum message length and a list of users blocked from using messaging. The addon is 100% translatable, so its text can be presented in the languages your site uses.
