Description:
WP User Avatar is a WordPress plugin that lets you use any photo uploaded into your Media Library as a user avatar. WordPress normally only allows custom avatars uploaded through Gravatar, but this plugin removes that restriction. Because it uses the same uploader and library as your posts, no extra folders or image editing functions are necessary. The plugin suits site owners who want more control over how user profile images are handled on their site.
The plugin includes several useful options. You can upload your own Default Avatar in the WP User Avatar settings, and show a user's Gravatar or the Default Avatar if the user has no WP User Avatar image. You can also disable Gravatar avatars entirely and use only local avatars. A standalone uploader can be added to a front page or widget with the avatar_upload shortcode, and this uploader is only visible to logged-in users. The avatar shortcode works in your posts with any theme, whether it has avatar support or not. Contributors and Subscribers can be allowed to upload their own avatars, with limits on upload file size and image dimensions.
The plugin is developed by FlipperCode, which offers a Support Desk where users can engage with multiple support staff for fast turnaround. A Pro version is also available, adding features such as webcam capture, avatar upload on the registration page, custom folder storage, Amazon S3 and Dropbox storage, and support for multi-site, BBPress and BuddyPress.
