Description:

The Email Lock extension for Download Monitor enables users to require an email address and name before they can access a download. This functionality is added to your existing downloads within Download Monitor. After installation, you can edit the specific download you wish to lock and check the Email Lock checkbox located in the Download Options meta box. Remember to save or update the download after selecting this option to activate the lock.

To implement this feature, you first unzip and upload the plugin folder to your `/wp-content/plugins/` directory. You then activate the extension through the Plugins menu in WordPress. Once the download is locked, you insert the unlock download form shortcode onto your page. This shortcode displays the Email Lock form and subsequently shows the download link after the form has been successfully completed.

Alternatively, you can use a shortcode to display the default download link instead of the unlock form on your page. When a visitor clicks this link, Download Monitor checks if the user has already unlocked the download. If the user has not yet unlocked the file, a No Access page will be displayed. The Email Lock extension automatically appends the necessary unlocking form to this No Access page for the visitor to complete.
