Description:
GP PayPal One-time Fee is a Gravity Forms perk from Gravity Wiz that adds a one-time fee to the first payment of a PayPal Standard subscription. It suits builders who need to charge a setup fee on the initial payment, for example when signing users up for a web hosting package. The perk is deprecated, and the feature is now built into the Gravity Forms PayPal Standard Add-on.
PayPal Standard does not support a one-time fee on subscriptions natively, but it does support a trial period. The perk uses the trial period functionality to simulate a one-time fee. A feed cannot combine a trial period with a one-time fee, and activating the fee disables the trial period options on the PayPal feed. The perk also handles Recurring Amount combinations, such as adding the one-time fee and recurring amount together for the first payment while the recurring amount alone sets the subscription.
Setup happens through a UI on the PayPal feed and assumes the Gravity Forms PayPal Payments Standard add-on is installed. The feed transaction type must be set to Subscriptions, since the functionality does not work with other transaction types. A dropdown labeled Perk: One-time Fee lets you pick a product field or the form total to bill as the fee. Existing subscription feeds can also be updated.
The vendor’s own page for GP PayPal One-time Fee has the full details.
