AdSanity Impressions is an add-on that changes how ads reach the end of their life on a site. Instead of an ad running until a date passes, Impressions lets you expire an ad after it has been viewed a certain number of times. The number of views is the trigger, so an ad stays live until that count is reached and then it stops being shown.

The way it works is straightforward. When you set up an ad, you decide how many times that ad should be viewed before it expires. Each time the ad is displayed to a visitor, that display counts toward the total. Once the ad has been viewed the number of times you specified, it expires automatically and no longer appears on the site. This means the lifespan of an ad is measured in views rather than in days or weeks.

This approach is useful when an ad campaign is defined by exposure rather than by time. Some campaigns are sold or planned around a fixed quantity of views, and with Impressions the ad ends exactly when that quantity has been delivered.
