Description:

AdSanity Weighted Ads is an add-on that lets you control how often each ad appears when ads are shown in a group. Instead of every ad in a group being displayed equally, you can assign a frequency level to each ad so that some are shown more often than others. This gives you a way to manage rotation within a group without removing any ads from it.

The add-on offers five frequency levels to choose from for each ad: Lowest, Low, Medium, High, and Highest. Medium is the default level. The higher the frequency level you select for an ad, the more often that ad will appear. This functionality works best when a group contains more ads than you actually display at one time, since that is when the weighting has a visible effect on which ads get shown.

Weighted Ads is aimed at publishers who run ad groups and want finer control over rotation. For example, if you display a 2×2 grid of 125×125 ads but have 10 ads in the group, you can add weighting to a few of those ads so they appear more often than the others. This increased placement can then be used to charge advertisers more for the extra exposure their ads receive.
