EffectIO Advanced Ads – Slider 1.4.10

Advanced Ads Slider is an add-on for the Advanced Ads plugin that introduces a new type of ad group. When you create this ad group type, the frontend output of the ads inside it is rendered as a slider. Instead of displaying the grouped ads one after another in a static list, the plugin shows them as rotating banners within a single slider element on your site.

The way it works is straightforward. You assemble ads into the slider ad group just as you would with any other ad group in Advanced Ads. On the frontend, the plugin then takes the ads belonging to that group and presents them as a sequence of banners that rotate, so visitors see the ads change over time in the same spot on the page. This makes the group type suitable for anyone using Advanced Ads who wants to show several banners in one placement without stacking them vertically or loading them all at once as separate elements.

Technically, the slider functionality is built on Unslider, an existing slider library hosted at idiot.github.io/unslider. Rather than implementing the rotation logic from scratch, the plugin relies on this library to handle the slider output. This means the rotating banner behavior comes from a dedicated, established slider component rather than custom code written only for this add-on.

In addition to Unslider, the plugin uses two further scripts as part of its implementation. These are jquery.event.swipe, available at github.com/stephband/jquery.event.swipe, and jquery.event.move, available at github.com/stephband/jquery.event.move. Both scripts come from the same developer and deal with event handling for swipe and move interactions, and they are listed by the plugin author as the other scripts used alongside Unslider. The product is therefore aimed at Advanced Ads users who want a slider based ad group, with the rotating output handled by Unslider and supported by these two additional event scripts, all integrated into the existing ad group system of Advanced Ads.
