Description:
Advanced Ads Slider is an add-on for the Advanced Ads plugin that introduces a new type of ad group. Instead of displaying its banners in a static list or a fixed position, this group type renders its frontend output as a slider. The banners contained in the group rotate, so visitors see one banner at a time while the others follow in sequence. This makes it possible to place several advertisements in a single spot on a page without stacking them on top of each other.
The way it works is straightforward from the publisher's perspective. You create an ad group of the slider type within Advanced Ads, add the banners you want to that group, and place the group where the slider should appear. On the frontend, the plugin takes the banners from that group and outputs them as a rotating slider. Because the rotation is handled at the group level, the banners in the group become the slides of the slider, and the group itself becomes the unit you embed in your layout.
Technically, the slider is built on Unslider, a lightweight slider script, and the plugin relies on it to produce the rotating banner output. In addition to Unslider, two further scripts are used: jquery.event.swipe and jquery.event.move, both from the same developer. These scripts handle swipe and move events, which relates to how visitors can interact with the slider on touch devices and with pointer input. The plugin therefore combines a slider library with event handling scripts to deliver its rotating banner output.
This product is aimed at publishers and site owners who already work with Advanced Ads and want to show more than one advertisement in a single placement. If you manage ad groups and need their banners to rotate in a slider rather than appear one after another in a fixed spot, this add-on provides that group type. It fits workflows where ad space is limited and several banners should share the same position through rotation.
