Description:

This toolkit is for building metaboxes, custom fields, and forms for WordPress. It is a complete rewrite of Custom Metaboxes and Fields for WordPress. Developers can create metaboxes for post edit screens, forms for options pages, and forms that handle user meta on user profile add and edit pages. A flexible API allows the forms to be used almost anywhere, including the front-end.

Several field types are included, and a custom API hook lets developers create their own field types. Numerous hooks and filters allow many aspects of the library to be modified without editing it directly. Repeatable fields are supported for most field types, along with repeatable field groups. The library is safe to bundle with any project and will only load the newest version in the system.

Third party field types are also listed, including a field for attaching posts to a page, post and user search dialogs, an RGBa color picker with transparency support, a Google Maps field that stores latitude and longitude values, Select2 fields with typeahead style search and drag and drop reordering, and a slider field. Translations come from the community and wp-translations.org, and documentation is available on the project wiki with fully inline-documented functions.
