Description:

CMB2 is a developer's toolkit for building metaboxes, custom fields, and forms for WordPress. It manages meta for posts, terms, users, and comments, and can create custom option pages. It is a complete rewrite of Custom Metaboxes and Fields for WordPress.

You can create metaboxes for post edit screens, forms for option pages, forms for user meta on profile add and edit pages, and forms for term meta wherever your taxonomies are used. A flexible API allows the forms almost anywhere, including the front-end. Several field types are included, and a custom API hook lets you add your own field types. Numerous hooks and filters let you modify many aspects of the library without editing it directly. Repeatable fields are supported for most field types, along with repeatable field groups. CMB2 is safe to bundle with any project and loads only the newest version in the system.

Documentation is on the CMB2 wiki on GitHub, and functions and methods are fully inline documented. Getting started examples are included in example-functions.php, along with basic usage instructions. Translation files can be provided through WordPress Plugin Translations. Third party field types from community developers are listed, including attached posts fields, Ajax search fields, user search fields, and map fields for Google Maps and Leaflet. Development happens on GitHub and contributions are welcome.
