Description:
CMB2 Field JS Controls is a plugin for CMB2 that shows any field in a style similar to the WordPress publishing actions found in the Post and Page submit box, such as post_status, visibility and post_date. It is aimed at developers who build WordPress admin screens with CMB2 and want fields that can be edited, saved and cancelled through javascript controls.
Installation follows the standard WordPress plugin steps: download the plugin, place the plugin folder in the /wp-content/plugins/ directory and activate it in the plugin dashboard. Configuration is done through field parameters. The icon option accepts a dashicon, for example dashicons-edit, and an empty value means no icon is shown. The js_controls array holds the settings for the javascript controls, and the edit, save and cancel button texts can be changed, defaulting to Edit, OK and Cancel.
The readme notes that there is currently no way to output content before or after a field based on a custom parameter value, so fields must be set up as shown in the examples section, using the before_row and after_row callbacks js_controls_before and js_controls_after. The plugin also includes the WP JS Hooks library, so the output can be filtered when a field value changes using the cmb_js_controls_display_{field_id} and cmb_js_controls_display_{field_type} filters.
The vendor’s own page for CMB2 Field JS Controls has the full details.
