Easily embed, customize, and use Google maps on your WordPress site – in posts, pages or as an easy to use widget, display local images and let your site visitors get directions in seconds.

Isn’t it annoying when you can’t find a store’s location? Let your customers know where they can reach you by using Google Maps Pro! This amazing plugin will help your users know your store or your services location. Using it helps you build the perfect customer experience.

How to get the plugin?

Simply download the EffectIO Dashboard and you will see in the right part of Google Maps Pro the “Install” button. Then all you have to do is to activate it. It is that simple!

How to use Google Maps Pro?

Go to Settings -> Google Maps Pro and click on “Overview” and you will see the following on your screen:

google maps pro

It says that this plugin adds a map by simply entering the shortcode of it. You can literally paste it anywhere you want.

If you click on “Options”, you will see that the first option is to get your API Key. Get the API Key and use it.

Then you have to set your map’s width and height:

set height and width

The default settings are 300x300px, but you can practically set anything you wish. Just make sure it looks good on any device. If the map is too large, the user experience on your site will not be good and users will get confused or angry. Make sure it fits both screens, mobile and computer. Also check the tablet look.

Map type

There are 4 map types to choose from: Roadmap, satellite, hybrid and terrain. Depending on your business, each of them could be a great idea.

google maps pro map type

You can even choose the type of map zoom: Earth, Continent, Region, Nearby Cities, City Plan or Details. Each of these options are amazing ways of customizing your website, so use them wisely.

zoom

The units of your map will express the distance between your user and your shop. You can use either the Imperial measurements or the Metric ones. Depending on your country, any option can be good.

google maps pro units and alignment

Moreover, you can align your map as you wish: Left, Center and Right. The majority of users align their maps in center, but there are users who prefer the maps to be aligned to the Left or Right. But this doesn’t really matter on Mobile, as the screen is too small. Therefore, on mobile, your users will barely see any difference between the alignment.

Below, there’s an option called Additional CSS. You can add some CSS in order to make it perfect. However, don’t add too much because it will ruin it for you. The more natural it looks, the better.

To sum up

To sum up, Google Maps Pro is the type of plugin you want to use in order to make sure your users find you. There are plenty of options to personalize your maps, so feel free to do so. Mix this plugin with others, to make a personalized user experience Google can’t help but rank your site. Don’t forget not to over optimize your pages and everything should go just fine.
