Description:

One Click Demo Import is a WordPress plugin by Syed Balkhi. Its best feature is that theme authors can define import files in their themes, so the theme user only has to click the Import Demo Data button. Theme authors can make any theme compatible with the plugin in 15 minutes, and a guide explains the setup. Theme users can also contact the author of their theme and mention the plugin.

After activation, the import page is found under Appearance in wp-admin. When a theme defines several demo imports, the user can choose between them. With one predefined import the page shows that single import, and with none a manual import is used. A step for recommended and required theme plugins appears just before the import. The plugin uses a modified version of the improved WP import 2.0, and theme authors can predefine content, widgets, customizer and Redux framework files through the ocdi/import_files filter.

Import files are saved to the default WordPress uploads directory, and the log file is registered in the Media section for easy access. There is no setting to connect authors from the demo import file to existing users, so all demo content is imported under the current user. The documentation explains how to import demo content, and contributions are accepted through the official GitHub repository.
