This add on connects Paid Memberships Pro with BuddyPress or BuddyBoss so you can sell access to a private, members-only community on WordPress. It lets you protect community features such as member profiles, forum participation, activity streams, direct messaging, and notifications, and gate them behind membership levels. It works with BuddyPress, the original open source community plugin for WordPress, or BuddyBoss, a next generation community plugin with premium themes and features.

Paid Memberships Pro handles user registration, member approvals, and recurring subscription payments for community access. You can restrict access to specific community features by membership level, either locking all of BuddyPress for a given level or leaving other features open to visitors or logged-in users.

Per level settings cover group creation, viewing single groups, viewing the groups page, joining groups, public messaging, and more. Users without the required level who try to reach a restricted feature are redirected to the Access Restricted page set under Memberships, Page Settings, which can include the [pmpro_buddypress_restricted] shortcode. If more than one level restricts the community, the plugin grants access when the user holds any level that unlocks those features.
