Description:
Paid Memberships Pro – Limit Logins is a WordPress plugin that restricts the number of simultaneous logins for the same user account. Its goal is to deter people from sharing their login credentials, which is especially important for a paid membership, premium content, or eLearning site.
The plugin works by storing a random FAKESESSID for each user when they log in. On each page load, it checks whether the value stored in the user's cookies matches the last login stored in a transient. If the two values do not match, the user is logged out and redirected to the WordPress login page or to a custom page set with the pmpro_limit_logins_redirect_url filter. If the PMPRO_LIMIT_LOGINS_HEARTBEAT_CHECK constant is defined to true, JavaScript is loaded to bounce users as soon as a new user logs in with the same login, which is useful for sites with page caching. Administrators and any users with the manage_options capability are excluded from bounces.
By default, only one session per user is allowed. The pmpro_limit_logins_number_simultaneous_logins filter can be used to allow a defined number of active sessions, which makes it possible to offer bulk memberships to corporate, education, or other group-type customers via a shared login. A value of 0 means unlimited logins.
