PublishPress Statuses Pro is a WordPress plugin for publishers who need more labels for their content than the default Draft and Pending Review statuses. It lets you create additional post statuses such as In Progress, Needs Work, or Rejected, and you can decide which users are allowed to move posts into each status. Statuses come in two types: pre-publication statuses for unpublished posts and visibility statuses for published posts.

The plugin includes a main workflow of six statuses: Draft, Pitch, Assigned, In Progress, Approved, and Pending Review. Draft and Pending Review are core WordPress statuses that cannot be modified, while Pitch, Assigned, In Progress, and Approved are new additions. You can move, rearrange, and add to this workflow, and you can also create alternate workflows for content that is not on a direct path to publication, with examples such as Deferred, Needs Work, and Rejected.

In the Statuses settings you can choose which user roles can move a post to each status. If you also use the PublishPress Permissions Pro plugin, you can control who can assign, edit, and delete content in each status. It integrates with PublishPress Permissions Pro to support custom visibility statuses alongside the core Scheduled, Published, and Private statuses, so you can control who can access published content on the front of your WordPress site.
