Description:

Salient Widgets is an optional plugin for the Salient WordPress theme. It gives theme users a set of Nectar widgets to place in any WordPress sidebar or footer widget area. After installing and activating the plugin, you can assign the newly available widgets in the Widgets screen under Appearance.

The Nectar Popular Posts widget queries the most popular posts on your site. You choose how these are selected, by highest total views or highest total comments, and you set the timeline for the query, choosing all time, the last 7 days, the last 30 days, or the last year. The Nectar Recent Posts Extra widget displays your most recently published posts. It works similarly to the core WordPress recent posts widget but extends it with the option to limit the posts to specific categories.

The Recent Posts Extra widget offers multiple styles: Hover Featured Gradient Image And Counter, Hover Featured Image, Minimal Counter, and Featured Left Image. The plugin is described as legacy because widget areas predate Global Sections. The widgets still work and are still supported, so sites already using them need no changes. For a footer or sidebar built today, the documentation recommends Global Sections, where the full page builder is available instead of a fixed set of widget options.

The vendor’s own page for Salient Widgets has the full details.

Main Features of Salient Widgets:

Adds Nectar widgets for WordPress sidebars and footers.
Nectar Popular Posts widget allows selection by total views or total comments.
Popular posts queries can be filtered by all time, 7 days, 30 days, or 1 year.
Nectar Recent Posts Extra allows limiting posts to specific categories.
Multiple widget styles are available, including Featured Gradient Image and Counter.
