Description:
The Greek Keyword Stemmer, version 1.0.1, is an extension for SearchWP, the WordPress search plugin. By default, SearchWP applies English stemming when stemming is enabled on the main SearchWP settings screen. This extension changes that behavior. Once installed, it enables Greek keyword stemming whenever that option is turned on, so the setting that would normally apply English rules works with Greek words instead.
The extension is intended for WordPress site owners who use SearchWP on sites with Greek language content. SearchWP is an advanced WordPress search plugin, and stemming is controlled from its main settings screen. Owners who enable that option and want it to apply Greek keyword stemming rather than English stemming are the audience for this extension.
Note that this extension is deprecated as of SearchWP version 3.1. The reason is that Greek keyword stemming has been bundled into SearchWP itself, so the functionality the extension provided is now part of the plugin. Site owners running SearchWP version 3.1 or later therefore have Greek stemming built in, and the separate extension is no longer needed for those versions.
The vendor’s own page for SearchWP Greek Stemmer has the full details.
Main Features of SearchWP Greek Stemmer:
- Enables Greek keyword stemming when the stemming option is turned on
- Replaces the default English stemming that SearchWP applies
- Works with the stemming option on the main SearchWP settings screen
- Bundled into SearchWP itself as of SearchWP version 3.1
- Deprecated as a standalone extension as of SearchWP version 3.1
