Description:
Slim SEO Schema is a lightweight WordPress plugin that adds structured data markup in JSON-LD format to posts, pages, and any custom post types, helping Google better understand your content. It includes a visual schema builder with support for a comprehensive list of schemas. It also works with custom fields plugins such as Meta Box and ACF, and page builders including Gutenberg, Oxygen, and Bricks. It is for anyone who wants to improve the schema data that an SEO plugin outputs.
SEO plugins like Slim SEO and Yoast SEO output schema data so search engines understand the structure of a website and the information on a page, which lets them display rich results. Because these plugins are not specialized for schemas, their markup is basic and sometimes lacks information. On installation, Slim SEO Schema automatically creates default schemas that overwrite this code: WebSite and SearchAction for a sitelinks search box, WebPage with Breadcrumbs for navigation in search engine results pages, and Article with Person as the author and Organization as the publisher.
Each schema comes with a list of properties that have predefined values. These values are dynamic, such as the site title or the current post title, and the plugin sets them automatically so you do not have to write them yourself. You can change any value manually with plain values or dynamic variables, and add more properties to a schema.
You can also set a whole schema as a property of another one, for example a Person schema as the author of an Article, the WebPage schema as the main part of the WebSite schema, or the Organization schema as the publisher of an Article. Linking and reusing schemas this way builds a unified schema graph, where a property can reference a more complete set of information instead of simple text. Slim SEO Schema currently supports overwriting the schema code of Slim SEO and Yoast SEO, merging both into a single graph in the source code. For other SEO plugins, it still defines and outputs schemas for custom post types or pages, but it does not overwrite their existing output or merge it into one graph.
