UsersWP – Friends is an addon for UsersWP that adds a friend system to a WordPress site. Once installed and activated, it gives users the ability to send friend requests to other users and to accept friend requests they have received. The interaction works in a way similar to facebook, where connections between members are established through requests rather than being created automatically.
The addon integrates directly into the user profile area. When it is activated, a new tab called Friends appears in the User Profile. This tab is where all friend related activity for a user is displayed, so visitors and members can see the social connections of any profile they view on the site.
Inside the Friends tab, the content is organised into two subtabs. The first subtab is called Friends, and it contains the user's friend connections, meaning the people who are already connected with that user. The second subtab is called Pending, and it contains pending friend requests. This separation makes it easy to distinguish between confirmed friendships and requests that are still waiting to be handled.
The addon is fully translated ready, described as 100 percent translatable, so the interface strings can be rendered in the languages a site needs. UsersWP – Friends is aimed at site owners who run a UsersWP based community or membership site and want their members to build social connections with each other. It suits any project where profiles are central and where members should be able to decide who they connect with, since the request and acceptance flow puts that choice in the hands of the users themselves.
