EffectIO UsersWP - Groups 1.0.13

Description:

Groups is an add-on for UsersWP that adds Facebook style groups to a WordPress site. It is aimed at site owners who want to build a community with discussion groups similar to those on Facebook. The add-on is heavily inspired by Facebook groups and offers some of the same functionality and layout. It works on top of the UsersWP core plugin.

Users can create their own groups and decide the privacy and posting settings for each one. The group creator acts as the group admin and sets the name, description, banner image and group rules. Privacy can be public, private or hidden. Post moderation can be set to auto publish or to require approval. The creator also chooses who can invite new users. The options are the site admin, the group owner, the owner plus moderators, or all members. A create group link or button can be placed on any page by adding the create-new-group class to a link, and the Create New Group form then opens in a modal window.

Inside a group, members can post text, links, YouTube videos and uploaded images. Other members can like and comment on posts in the same way as on Facebook. Replies can include images, and each individual comment can be liked as well. For moderation, group owners can assign some members as moderators, and those moderators can approve or reject posts and deal with posts that have been flagged. Every post has an option that lets members flag it for the admins.

The add-on is developed by the UWP Team and requires WordPress 6.2 or higher, the UsersWP core plugin at version 1.2 or higher, and PHP 5.6 or higher. Documentation covers the add-on itself, the core plugin and a getting started guide, and a changelog is available for anyone who wants to follow changes between releases. Help with problems is available by submitting a support request. The product suits WordPress site owners who already run UsersWP and want to give their members a place to form groups, share posts and take part in discussions.

The vendor’s own page for UsersWP – Groups has the full details.
