Description:

The Mercado Pago Payment Gateway Addon extends the BookingPress WordPress appointment booking plugin with Mercado Pago as a payment method. It is intended for BookingPress users who want customers to pay for appointments through Mercado Pago. The addon is installed by uploading its zip file to WordPress like any other plugin, then activated. Once active, it appears in the Payment section under BookingPress Settings, where you enable the gateway and enter your credentials.

Configuration requires a Public Key, an Access Token, and a Secret Signature. The addon supports two payment modes, Sandbox and Live, and each mode uses different credentials, so the same credentials cannot be used in both. Credentials come from the Mercado Pago Developer dashboard. There you create an application, choose Online Payments, and select CheckoutAPI as the integration. The app panel shows the Public key and Access Token, which are pasted into the BookingPress payment settings.

To generate the Secret Signature, paste the Webhook URL from the Mercado Pago payment settings into the Mercado Pago admin panel, select all events, and click Generate or Simulate. Production mode is advisable for live payments. The generated signature is then copied into the BookingPress payment configuration. Depending on the selected payment mode, Live or Test, customers can use Mercado Pago to book appointments on the front end.
