Description:

The Announcement Extension for Directorist is a tool for sharing announcements on a directory site. It lets you send targeted messages to users, whether you are announcing important updates, promotions, or news, so your audience stays informed and engaged. The extension is aimed at directory site owners who want a direct way to keep users up to date without missing important information.

You control who receives each announcement. The extension lets you notify your entire user base or select specific groups, so you can tailor the reach of every message. Announcements are displayed prominently on user dashboards, and you have the option to send a copy directly to email, making sure your message gets to users wherever they are.

Messages can also be made time sensitive. You can set an expiry date for an announcement so it automatically disappears after a specified time, which makes it easy to share timely and relevant updates. The extension requires the Directorist plugin, WordPress 5.0 or higher, and PHP 7.0 or higher. It was released in November 2022 and last updated in March 2025, and the current version is 2.3.

The vendor’s own page for Directorist Announcement has the full details.

Main Features of Directorist Announcement:

['Send targeted announcements to all users or specific groups', 'Display announcements prominently on user dashboards', 'Optionally send a copy of each announcement by email', 'Set an expiry date so announcements disappear automatically', 'Share updates, promotions, and news with your directory users', 'Keep users informed and engaged with timely messages']

EffectIO members receive updates through the managed update channel. Install the EffectIO Connect plugin on your site and it handles activation, updates and licensing automatically.

Need a dashboard view of all your EffectIO assets? The EffectIO Dashboard shows what is installed, what is licensed, and what has an update available.

The 2.3 version stays on this update channel for the subscription year.
