Description:
MB Show Hide is an extension for the Meta Box plugin that helps developers show or hide meta boxes based on conditions. It toggles meta boxes by page template, post format, category, custom taxonomy (hierarchical ones only), parent page, or input values, for example showing a meta box when a value is picked from a dropdown or hiding one when a checkbox is checked. It uses JavaScript, so elements are shown or hidden immediately, and conditions can be combined using include, exclude, and the logical operators AND and OR to create as many restrictions as needed.
Developers do not need to rewrite any meta box definitions or write custom PHP to check conditions. They only add conditions for where a meta box should show or hide, and the rest is done automatically. It works with meta boxes, meaning it does not show or hide custom fields or elements based on rules. For that, or for more complex conditions, the vendor points to the MB Conditional Logic extension.
The extension works in both the classic editor and Gutenberg. Support arrived in version 1.1.0, but at that stage only template and post format rules worked because of Gutenberg limitations. Since version 1.3.0, compatibility is complete and all rules work properly in both editors. The current version is 1.3.1.
The vendor’s own page for Meta Box Show Hide has the full details.
