PublishPress Capabilities is an access control plugin for WordPress. It lets you control the capabilities and permissions on your site and manage all user roles, from Administrators and Editors to Authors, Contributors, Subscribers and custom roles. You can edit, create or duplicate any role and set the exact capabilities it needs. New roles work like the default WordPress roles and can be added to a single site or a multisite network.

You can choose who can publish, read, edit and delete content, with permissions for posts, pages, custom content types, categories, tags and other taxonomies. Custom post types, whether built with code, a theme or a plugin, can have their own distinct capabilities. The plugin can also clean up the post editing screen, the admin area and the Profile screen. You decide what authors see when writing in Gutenberg or the Classic Editor, and can remove items from the admin, toolbar, dashboard widgets and user account screens.

Other features include modifying the frontend by hiding or adding CSS, restricting navigation menus by role or logged in status, testing a user's account without resetting the password, and organizing admin notices and advertisements.
