EffectIO Restrict Content Pro - bbPress 1.0.2

Description:

Restrict Content Pro – bbPress is an add-on for the Restrict Content Pro plugin. It does not function on its own, so Restrict Content Pro needs to be present for the add-on to work. The purpose of the add-on is to connect the membership restrictions of Restrict Content Pro with the forum software bbPress. With both plugins in place, forum content falls within the scope of what Restrict Content Pro can restrict, extending membership restrictions into the forum area of a site.

The add-on adds support for limiting bbPress forums and topics to paid members and to members with specific access rights. A forum or a single topic can therefore be reserved for a particular group of members, while access is limited for everyone else. This makes it exceptionally easy to have members-only forums. Instead of treating every board and every discussion as public, you can decide which forums and which topics are limited, and whether the limit applies to paying members or to members holding specific access rights.

This add-on is aimed at site owners who run memberships through Restrict Content Pro and who also use bbPress for community discussion. If parts of a forum should be open only to paid members, or only to members with certain access rights, the add-on provides that link between the membership side of the site and the forum side. It suits anyone who wants members-only forums without handling the restriction work separately, because forum access is tied to the paid memberships and access rights managed through Restrict Content Pro.

According to the vendor notice, on October 14th, 2021, all Restrict Content Pro add-ons will be removed from the WordPress plugin repository. This plugin, along with all other Restrict Content Pro add-ons, will remain available to download in the iThemes Member's Panel. Anyone who wants to keep using this add-on can therefore get it through that panel. More information about Restrict Content Pro itself can be found at restrictcontentpro.com.
