EffectIO Restrict Content Pro - BuddyPress 2.1.8

Description:

This product is the BuddyPress extension for Restrict Content Pro, provided as version 2.1.8. Its purpose, as stated by the vendor, is to extend Restrict Content Pro so that the plugin can integrate with BuddyPress. It is not a standalone tool. It exists to connect two existing pieces of WordPress software, taking what Restrict Content Pro already provides and extending it with a connection to BuddyPress.

The word extend describes how the product works. It does not replace Restrict Content Pro, and it does not duplicate anything that BuddyPress already does. Instead, it sits alongside Restrict Content Pro and extends that plugin with BuddyPress integration. On a WordPress site where both plugins are installed, the extension provides the link between them, so that Restrict Content Pro and BuddyPress operate together as an integrated pair rather than as two separate systems. The integration is the stated scope of the product, and everything the extension does follows from that single goal of connecting the two plugins.

Because it is an extension, it works in combination with the main plugin rather than on its own. A site that runs Restrict Content Pro by itself does not need this add-on, and a site that runs BuddyPress by itself has no use for it. The extension matters in the specific case where both plugins are in use at the same time and where their integration is wanted. In that setting, the add-on extends Restrict Content Pro with a BuddyPress connection.

This makes the intended audience clear. The product is written for WordPress site owners and administrators who already use Restrict Content Pro and who also run BuddyPress, and who want the two plugins to work together. For that group, the extension supplies the integration that brings the two systems into one connected setup. The version number, 2.1.8, identifies this build of the extension, which keeps to the single purpose the vendor describes: extending Restrict Content Pro to integrate with BuddyPress.
