Description:

wpDiscuz Private Comments is an addon for the wpDiscuz commenting plugin, and it requires wpDiscuz version 7.3.0 or higher. The addon allows commenters to create private comment threads. A private thread is available only to website administrators, moderators, and the thread owner, which is the comment author who started it. It is intended for WordPress sites that run comments through wpDiscuz.

To mark a comment as private, the addon adds an icon button next to the comment submit button. A [Private] button on parent comments sets the whole thread as private after the comment has been submitted. In the dashboard, these buttons can be shown or hidden for specific user roles, and a user role can be set to moderate private comments. The feature can also be enabled or disabled for a particular comment form, which is useful when custom post types use their own forms.

When a new private comment is created, the addon sends an email notification to moderators, and the subject and body of that email can be customized. A set new comments to private option is included for sites where every new comment should be private.
