The Trip Fixed Starting Dates Countdown is an extension for WP Travel Engine. Its purpose is to let you add a fixed starting dates countdown to the trips you choose, so a trip can display how much time remains before its fixed starting date. The extension does not work on its own. It is dependent on the Trip Fixed Starting Dates add-on, and that add-on must be present for the countdown features to function.

Once the extension is in place, it adds a Trip Starting Countdown widget in the widgets section and a Trip Countdown Configuration meta box in the trip dashboard. The meta box is where the countdown for a trip gets configured, and the widget is what displays it.

Because the extension depends on the Trip Fixed Starting Dates add-on, the countdown works only on trips that have Fixed Starting Dates configured. Trips without that configuration will not show the countdown. The extension is aimed at WP Travel Engine users who already plan trips around fixed starting dates and want to show a countdown for those dates.
